I don't hunt, but I might just start! Phin gives tips on how to hunt cat.

I love this blog. So rich in it's reader's knowledge.Thank goodness this was put on top of the band just in the nick of time.Come on guys ,we can keep this alive!!!!
1.We have Phin who actually hunts these pests.
2.We have Finn who had one of these pests. The poor Kitty had a paw shot off by some Finnish punks ..who might have Swedish ancestry.
3.We have Chin who eats these pest (except friday during lent).
4. Greyrooster, who I am suprised to learn is on the dark side of this issue, just like my dad.
Well, Greyrooster, I was with Jessie Jackson a short time ago, so I guess I can tolerate a cat loving Patroit.

Brad: I am neutral when it comes to cats. My barn cats are there for a reason. To kill the Collin er rats in the barn. No cats have rats. Have cats, no rats.
I don't believe there are cats in Finland. Why would they wish to stay there?
Cats that run loose are a plague. The damage they do to bird and squirel populations is horrific. That also destroy insect eaters like lizards and snakes. Since my place is rather large I figure they are my birds and snakes. The population seems to be holding up as I feed the cats well. They catch the rats and mice more for fun than dinner. They leave the dead mice all over the place. My white cat doesn't leave the barn much. As Suzy my Turkish Akbash, and Sammy my Great Pyrenees believes he is a liberal. My Pit bull catch dog likes cats as he was raised with them.
I am in the market for a Vietnamese cat. I hear they eat the mice they catch instead of leaving them all over the place.
I once set a snare to catch a stray cat. Caught a possum instead.
I have a friend with several cats in the house. They jump on his kitchen counter. I envision them first standing in their litter box. I never accept dinner invitations from him.
I think indoor cats are liberals. They make noise over nothing and stink up the house.
Have to go. Picking up 3 kids to go set some trot lines in the river. Man do they love catching those big flathead catfish. CAT FISH. I wonder if they piss in the house.

Thats funny,
My wife saw my folk's cat up on the kitchen counter and now she hates to eat there. She is always cleaning the counter tops like the maid when she is over.
Oh well, nothing like a little kitty litter on the Thanksgiving turkey.

Brad: Next Saturday I will be with Roy Jones Jr. His fiance, his uncle Danny and my good friend Roosevelt. Roosevelt is Roys get it done guy. Roy has over 20 pit bulls at his farm in Pensacola, Fla. Wonder what a cats life would be like there? Probably shorter than in a Vietnamese restaurant's dumpster.

Brad: Don't smoke. I found out early this morning that a John Deere cannot catch a cat in a field. Tried to disk that sucker in but he was too quick.
Pit bulls named Rocky who like cats should be brought to trial.
Some you train to catch cats.
Some you train to catch hogs.
Some you train to catch those who ride camels.
Rocky cannot focus on two things at once. So hogs and cats are out.
Just thought of something. All three of my dogs are white.
My friend down the road. Kim (nicknamed, the token, every neighborhood must have one). Has three black dogs. Is dog color selection a sublimenal racial thing. I could give a shit as my dogs can and have whopped the dodo out of his.
Kim, has put his house up for sale. I will miss him. The guys down on the river will not. Someone keeps blowing up his mailbox. On the other hand he's asking 55 grand more than he paid for it last year. Life's a bitch. Sometimes.

Interesting to note that someone shot the foot off the Finn family cat. Those stubborn folks are staying put. Just bound and determined to stay where they are and freeze their asses off forever.They will not be run off by cat hate.
Off to my son's 3rd baseball game this week. My son has 2 triples and an HR from Monday and Tuesday's games. Man we would have a team if it were not for the Lambert twins. We have both on our team and a more uncordinated pair never played the game. There is no place to hide them on the field. The ball follows them around like a magnet then bounces off some Lambert body part for extra bases. Team ERA would be 2 pts lower if those two would have taken up piano instead of baseball.

If the estimated body counts prove correct, the new graves would be among the largest in the grim tally of mass killings that have gradually come to light since the fall of Mr. Hussein's government two years ago. The analogy was silly indeed, A Finn. But that's because the original claim by Collin was silly. The US provided only a tiny fraction of the aid that Saddam got from countries like the Soviet Union, France and Germany. We didn't "own" Saddam at all, despite dishonest claims like Collin's.

Banning Collin Baber was a chickensh!t thing to do. As a Molecular Biologist I value peer review. Apparently Political "Science", which is a non-science, has no such concept.
It was obvious from Rusty's post (see above) that he wasn't concerned with foul language nor ad hominems as he feigned but rather with silencing the opposition - those who are "the most critical". Collin, a brilliant man, was the most forceful voice of opposition on this site. He never once used profanity or ad hominems even though they were hurled at him constantly.
It just illustrates how feeble minded your cause is when you can''t stand up to the scrutiny that Collin provided.
And he's no traitor either. He loves this country more than you proles do. If you have your way you'll turn this country into a permanent state of Marshall Law.
A few of you, the cream of the crop as far as I'm concerned, supported Collin and were against banning anyone. You deserve a pat on the back.

Collin brought absolutely nothing constructive to the table. In fact, he sounded like an automated program that posted programmed responses to various topics. If you review his posts, he used the same quotes and one-liners over and over and over. It was like the spam for viagra that shows up in your email. How many times can one read "Bushian War-Cult" before it ceases to have any meaning. The C3PO comparison used by YBP seems just about right. Collin spits out his programmed responses like one of those old computers that took up a whole room. I tried to ignore his posts, but it's like trying not to look at a train wreck. It's too bad that the comments section doesn't have some sort of ignore feature like many message boards have. Then we could put him on ignore and not have to endure his endless ramblings. His inane posts were not only insulting but painful to endure. Honestly, I had begun to not visit your site every day simply because it had become the Rusty and Collin show. He showed up on here so frequently with the same message that it was like this was his blog. The man is an obvious link-whore who thought that provoking people here would result in increased traffic on his blog. I have never visited and never will. I don't find it fun to argue with him (that's not why I read blogs) and frankly, his posts hurt my brain. It's like trying to reason with a madman...just not worth my time.

I think most of you hate the guy because he didn't use profanity in his posts, he was very calm and some of his posts were interesting like Aiden Delgado's testimony for example. that was only one factor. But my transformation was gradual over about two years, and it started before 9/11, then quickened after 9/11.
I became more serious about my christian faith, and that's what triggered my defection. I chose to no longer accept the rabid christiano-phobia of the Left. As a nomimal christian previous to that, it's something I had noticed but it didn't really bother me. As a more committed christian though, it's a huge turn off. Huge.
I used to be an elitist myself, like most on the Left. I saw the American people as dummies and dolts beneath my dignity. Now I choose to identify myself with these proles even though I'm well schooled, well-read and well-travelled. I have lived on 3 continents and travelled on four. I'm no prole. Yet, when you despise the proles, you despise me, and I'm proud of it. Elitism now repulses me.

There are ways to discuss issues that we do not all agree with and there are ways not to. My apologies, the part of Texas I live in is too rocky (limestone) so there are very few basements, just some crawl space under the house if it is pier and beam construction.
Texas is actually like 5 states geographically so there may be areas in Texas where basements are more feasible.

I am a native Texan and lived here all of my life. I've seen several basements throughout West Texas and some in the Houston area. In fact, while I college I rented a house with a basement. They are not the norm as in other parts of the country, but there are plenty here.

Youse guys seem to be missing the point! Differing views are one thing, even if you're against the war, that's fine too, BUT, there's a difference between having an opposing view and hating America and wishing death to us....people like that ARE the enemy and we don't need his kind here.
Mudslinging doesn't bother me, I've had my share on other comment sections of the blog over the last year, but when people constantly put Bush down, our govt. down, our country down, "long live Allah and death to all dirty Americans" type of shit, then I draw the line.

God forbid I give the impression of support for one of the resident wackos, but I'd like to throw my hat into the 'basements in Texas' discussion. I was born, raised, and never lived anywhere but TX. I currently live about halfway between Houston and Galveston. I have lived here, in the piney woods of east TX, in Dallas, and near San Antonio. I have friends in Lubbock, Amarillo, Austin, and Laredo. I have visited them at their homes. I have visted all over the state and have never once been in a house in TX that had a basement.
My original vocation in life was to train for a life as an architect so I know a thing or two about construction. The structual reason for having a basement is because the foundation has to be below the frost line for that part of the country. If there are basements in TX, it's because of a prefence by the original owner/builder and it is not wide-spread in my experience. The frost line in most of TX is only a few inches below the ground. Maybe in the more mountainous parts of the state near NM or in the extreme far north in the panhandle. Of course, I can't say I'm familar with every house ...
Just my two cents.
And just to stay on topic: Ban the idiot.

Slug, I have absolutely no doubt you are right. Yes, the crawl spaces are in the Panhandle of Texas as well, but I know I've seen and been in basements in Texas. Heh. Now both you and Greg are going to make me want to travel back to Lubbock and take a picture of my old rental home's basement and the rental homes of a few of my old friends.
There was one home, off of Indiana and about 28th (Possibly Quaker) that had a basement that was as large as half the house. I'm sure it was added on as it is not customary as you mentioned Slug. These were old homes in Lubbock that had basements if that matters.
Now my friend in Houston lives in a house that is 10 years old (I have no clue really) and he has a basement. In fact that is the reason why he purchased the home because he liked the idea of having one. He too is from and only lived in Texas.
Why stay on topic when going off topic is much more fun?

Not sure why you guys are talking about basements and crawlspaces, but I spend a lot of time going into and evaluating both, its part of what I do to make a living. There are a lot of reasons to have or not have a basement or crawlspace. At least one consideration is simply the slope of the lot. Anyway, here in North Carolina where I do most of my work, I see a lot of houses that have both a basement and a crawlspace...which gets to my story. Just yesterday, I inspected an older house (built in 40's) with both a basement and a crawlspace. In the most bizarre thing I have found yet in a house, this one had a secret hidden room behind the basement wall that was accessed through the crawlspace. The room had lots of lights, a table, and some potting soil and fertilizer - obviously a pot farm. But whoever did it dug under the damn footing that was holding up the basement wall. They knew what they were doing because they did not undermine any interior pier footings or major supports, the basement wall was essentially just a retaining wall. Still, a big damn hole under the house could subside, and result in uneven floors, cracked brickwork, or worse. Anyway, I plan to place photos I took and post them on my blog, which I created as a place to gripe but also post pictures and photos from my work.

----I was in NYC. I saw the people jumping, body parts on the pavement and the towers falling. I didn't hear about it for a while through the media because the airwaves were so compromised. I was about to leave for work when I turned on ABC and saw the coverage of the first plane. Believing it was a small plane and an accident, I reached for the remote when I saw the second plane hit. Many Republicans, and even some Democrats, were more concerned with John Kerry's refusal to give the threat of terrorism a higher platform in his candidacy than with the repeated 9/11 mentions. It seemed as if Kerry would have wanted to bring this country back to where we were in the 1990s as far as our knowledge of and reaction to radical Islam. This frightened more people than the supposed "Republican scare tactics." The truth should not be frightening.
Why did we invade Iraq?
Several reasons, none of which was for oil as the predisposed anit-Bush belief stems from. If this was the case, we would have already milked Iraq of oil time and time again yet we have not. Oil was supposed to help pay for the rebuilding or Iraq remember? The most compelling of the ten reasons the President sent to Congress, which I must add overwhelmingly voted in favor for (before they didn't?), was to spread Democracy in the Middle East. President Bush believes, as do many other Americans and people world-wide, that a Democratic state would all but eliminate radical Islam. Iraq has a peudo-Democracy right now, but a Democracy growing out of a dictatorship does not flower overnight. Iraqis are on the right step and taking the right leaps; we should support them.

That all depends. If you feel that the threat of radical Islam is a major threat to our way of life, then you bet we are. If you view it as a criminal activity for the police to deal with, no. Again, we saw during the 90s what sitting back and doing little to nothing to face the threat of radical Islam can do.

It is completely fair and accurate based on a Republic, which is the type of government the U.S. operates under. A true Democracy is unfortunately not feasible at this time in a country of millions. Rushed how? You have to understand that at the time the world's top five intelligence agencies believed Iraq had WMD stockpiles and WMD procurement facilities. This was not just a U.S./CIA belief; even Saddam's own generals believed this. Saddam funded, housed and trained terrorists as this all has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt after the invasion. The world could not sit by and let a country, that could easily be toppled I might add, posses and make WMDs (that was the belief) that trained, funded and housed terrorists.
What nations count? I would consider England, Australia, Italy, Spain, etc. as countries that count. All four of the countries I listed have been strong allies of the United States for decades.
Now whether or not future jihadis will rise out of this conflict is not yet known. What we do know is that the jihadis who have attacked Coalition forces in the area have been routinely wiped out. It is the belief of President Bush, and again of many others, that Democracy will cure this ailment.
I believe Democracy is strong medicine to radical Islam, however more needs to be done. This is where helping matters out by offering suggestions instead of just blasting anything Bush would be helpful. Unfortunately the world's problem has once again been placed only on the United States.

Chad, good points...the alarming thing to me is that it seems now that after the research and reports came out that many of the main reasons for invading Iraq were based on false evidence: WMD were not found. I'm sure Saddam would love to have nukes, and would have given enough time, but I despise being lied to by our government. They need to be held accountable for shit like that, and when is the last time you saw that? I don't see democracy as a solution to this problem. I think the two biggest problems our world faces is greed and radicalism in religion. Greed is the root of almost everything corrupt. Young Bourbon Professional, in my opinion, the decision to keep Terri alive or remove a feeding tube was irrelevant. The important issue to me was that it's not Bush or Congress's business to put into politics a sensitive private family matter.
I've always thought abortion is a private woman's decision. I personally think it's wrong once a fetus starts developing a central nervous system or cerebelum. I guess to me, you are a person when you start having reflexes in the womb...which is very very soon. The thing is, in instances of "i" or "r" the woman has been violated and shouldn't be forced to birth a product of violence or molestation. Agree or dissagree, women will find a way to abort legally or not. It's a never ending arguement....when does life or a person begin to exist and are the women doing it murderers, etc. You have to admit though, it's pretty fucked up when someone justifies bombing an abortion clinic to "stop murder".

Same here. We need to protect all innocent human life. I say that life is never "private." Suicide is against the law. The fact that some people may still seek abortions were they illegal is irrelevant. Where do we draw the line with letting people who were conceived in violence. Do we kill living kids whose parents are related or who were conceived in rape? That doesn't diminish the worth of the child. I don't think exterminating someone in order to make a "perfect world" is the solution. The Church teaches that people are human at conception. Why don't people who may not be Christians err on the side of caution, like we feel should be the case with capital punishmnet?

Looks like it was fun. When I lived on Governor's Island, NY. I used to hang at one of the bars at pier 17. Governor never came when I was there. Mike Tyson once. Back when he was a real fighter. Could walk the 3 blocks to the Ferry. Sometimes, had to take the cab back. Three blocks walking and 40 blocks back by cab. But who cared. Used to think the raghead cabbies were dumb and got losted. Later, found out they weren't so dumb. They knew what they were doing the entire time.
Once took a cab from Kennedy Airport to Battery Park. Got to see the Liberty Bell on the way.

Hey, I think my biology teacher mentioned how to start parthenogenesis in human females.
Something about taking hormones to prevent periods from starting and then taking a mild poison that interferes with the cells dividing, so they only halve themselves and when the egg starts going down the pipes, it has a full set of chromosomes, attaches to the sides and starts growing regularly, as long as anti-period hormones are used all the time.

These guys also consider sending teenagers on a suicide bombing mission to blow up street vendors bravery. Right.
What was that line from the movie Patton? You know, the one about the point of war not being about dying for your country but letting the son-of-a-bitch you're fighting die for his?

Yeah, you're pretty much broke, and the amount you owe to other countries grows by billions each year. The wars give a good excuse to be broke, but if your economy doesn't heal up you can't afford the wars either.

Did not photo the mushrooms. Oh I get it you mean a still as in distilled, not "hold still". Nope I am afraid I might make some wood alcohol or somthing. Grandpa has been known known to make a batch of fire water every now and then. I'm just making wine. Plus I would get in trouble probably. Grandpa is a WWII vet slash mason and seems to be able to get away with a lot.
